Just Sayin'...

If you really want to occupy wall street..

BUY LOCAL | BUY HANDMADE
De-Occupy Black Friday!

If you want beautiful JEWELRY, visit my sister's shop!
Handmade in Seattle WA, great prices, made with love.

(Studded Leather Bracelets, Tribal Queen Necklace
Crystal Castle Necklace, Golden Rhinestone Headpiece)

That's all I really have to say about Occupy Wall Street. I respect those who are participating in OWS, we all have to do our thing and fight for the things that we believe are rightfully ours as human beings. I pray that all those participating stay safe, and find peace and satisfaction. As for me, this place is not my home, and I have no hope that leaders will restore perfect balance in the world. The earth is temporary and full of pain. We all have the ability to ease that hurt, with love, peace, compassion. Take care of others, take care of yourself, and do your best in everything. Love the earth. That was my pure and honest hippie rant, hope you enjoyed.

Question of the blog:
Do you celebrate Black Friday? What are your thoughts on this year's Black Thursday?
Personally, I have never celebrated Black Friday, and usually celebrate the day after thanksgiving as a day I stay in the house, and don't spend anything.

Lune Vintage Necklace!

Today I got a lovely package in the mail from my older sister, Moorea Seal. She has great connections with wonderful jewelry artists, and got this beautiful necklace for me! Jill from LuneVintage.Blogspot.com made this necklace, the Love Lune Talisman Tassel Necklace in Jasper. It looks just like the image I first saw on her Etsy shop, and matches my style so well! I'm so pleased. Nothing like a new piece of beautiful jewelry to brighten a stormy day!

Here are a few more images of her jewelry. She has a beautiful style that could match any lady's outfit. I will pair this necklace up against my infinite amount of little black dresses, or with a flowy little top and denim. Such a versatile piece, and I'll be wearing it all the time now!

Question of the blog:
Some people are just meant for jewelry, I feel like I'm that type of person. I will always be wearing some piece of jewelry. Currently, I am wearing two rings, a watch, friendship bracelet, septum ring, and my new Tassel necklace.
Are you the type of person who wears a lot of jewelry, or would rather wear no jewelry at all?

Tattoos, Sisters, and Resolutions.

Kelly, getting her Sims tattoo on her birthday

It's been a great couple of days. I am feeling very motivated and happy about the way 2011 is coming along.. Okay so we're 8 days in but nevertheless, I have a positive outlook and that's good enough for me.

Some good news to pass on to you.
1. My blog has been redesigned by my older sister, Moorea. For those of you who don't know Moorea, she is one of my favorite people and biggest sources of inspiration in this world. Her mind is filled with the most wonderful imagination that she draws, designs, and produces for the world to see. Not only is she a blogger, but she redesigns blogs, and she can redesign yours, too! She also has an Etsy shop where she designs and sells wonderful jewelry that I love.. I have a few of her pieces that I wear all the time. So go on over and check out her great sites, and pick up some lovely new jewelry for yourself!
2. I am piling my New Years Resolutions together.. And there is one I am particularly excited about. To give you the general gist of it, I am going through the year weekly. Each new week, a new adventure. But I need YOUR help in putting this list of 50 things to do for 7 days! More on this resolution in my next blog.

Question of the blog:
1. Do you have siblings?
2. What are your new years resolutions?

You Are In Me

You are reading in the sunlight
As the warmth surrounds your shoulderblades
Look up to see me smiling
And as I open my mouth to say a word
You bring your finger to your lip
To quiet my mind
Draw me in, like agape
Miss you no more, you are with me
Inside my heart still beats
Lean into your chest and you let me rest
Exasperated breaths slow, I am calm
As you sing me your lullaby once again
And I am drifting off to sleep

Question of the blog:
Who knows you better than yourself?

The Day The Sun Was Shining

Good morning.
Eight wakes me. Existence greets me with community, and others. They clap their hands, we greet each other. I hear songs from my past, widening my heart to accept your gift. Young people, babies, love, doing their best. Thoughts jumble my mind and my stomach. Grape juice in cups that remind me of my past. My heart yearns and I open myself up. Broken cisterns. Come fill me. It's 10:30.
Jon Foreman guides me up North. I park in my favorite spot. Walk in shaking, too much coffee, or something else. It is All Saint's Day, and the occasion sends us to the Book of Common Prayer. I am home, as we say the prayers I have spoken since the day I could read. I am overwhelmed. We sing my favorite hymns.
Disregard everything, just listen.

Propaganda

Giants won the World Series this year, so my friend Brian and 3 other nice kids got tattoos.

Ah, the therapeutic burn.
We went to Propaganda Tattoo on Voltaire Street in San Diego. Such a wonderful place with a great vibe and even better people. How small is this world? Well, Steve, one of the tattoo artists, heard Brian talking about the 5-3-0 (my area code) and said, "Oh, Grass Valley? I lived there for 13 years." CRAZY. He talked all about The Crazy Horse and all of his good times hanging out by my old work. He spoke about Scary Jerry and mutual friends, and the Del Oro theatre.
It was good to have a moment back at home.

don't say i love you without saying it out loud

it's hard, so i won't say it at all
and i won't stay very long
but you are the life i needed all along
i think of you as my brother although that sounds dumb
and words are futile devices

i do.

October

I cut open a gaping hole,
it reveals all the things I must remove.
To dig deep, scraping, cutting,
digging into the impurities.
Taking time, deep inside my mind.
I carve out how I see myself,
with moons and stars, I follow the night.
Oak trees, rooted firmly,
disconnected, old and withered.

And as I finish my pumpkin,
I am reminded that it's the end of October. Time is moving too fast.

Miles Ago

Harsh lines separate the night from day,
as I wake up in foreign places after long nights.
Paint drips like water falls,
my skin is wet from those days at the river.
Black to white and ash,
Smoke rises and dissipates into thin air.
My feet up on the dashboard while you drive,
I sing those songs to the rushing air beside me.
As I recall those days ago,
the best summer of my life.

Always coming back home to you.

Question of the blog:
When was the best summer of your life?

Network

I may have posted this before.. But my dear friend Justin reminded me of it today.

Shivers, every time. Everybody knows things are bad.

I'm a human being. My life has value.

I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore.

Back In Business

Welcome back, septum. I've missed you and the meaning you hold.

Eyes to the sky.

Question of the blog:
Do you have any piercings? Do they hold any specific meanings to you?

Update.

My air conditioner has broken.

Windows open,
Blinds wave in the wind, inches from each other.
Lights are off,
And my bed calls my name, before the sun is set.

I am as decorated as can be so far. My room looks a lot more like me than I had expected when I first showed up. My next task is decorating the living room, because right now it's so hideous I can't even sit in it for more than 5 minutes.

Here is my room. Tada!

Question of the blog:
Are you the type of person that needs to decorate, or are all of your ideas in your mind, so you can be satisfied with a blank wall?

Surface

I am a part of a generation that is constantly being bombarded with images. From Tumblr, to Facebook albums, to Stumble Upon, and everything in between. We have such potential to turn into incredible people filled with knowledge on art and beauty, but instead we just flip through pages, stimulating our brains with shots of things that don't teach us or allow us to really grow in our pursuit of becoming a better art critic. Scrolling and scrolling of photos and I have gained nothing. Reblog, like, comment, nothing.

Question of the blog:
What does beauty mean to you?

A Day In The Life Of A College Kid

Today, I am putting together my schedule for school this fall. San Diego is becoming more and more of a reality. I can't wait! So here's the deal, I've got morning classes Monday through Thursday, World Religions, English, and Math. Now, I must add an art class I'm not really interested in taking.. Or maybe I should just take Spanish?

5 UNITS? Really? For a Spanish class? If you add the word "requirement" to anything, you know I'll be unmotivated. I'll think about it. Until then..

I'm taking my vitamins and am going to prepare for some singing with old friends. Today, I am happy for the music in my life, and my wonderful boyfriend who I miss incredible amounts.

Question of the blog:
Are you in school? What are you taking this fall? If you're not in school, what are your plans for the fall?
