I wish Michael Jackson's music video for You Rock My World was good enough to post on here, but I absolutely hate it. Instead, I'll post another one of my favorites. To give you the real reason why I'm posting about MJ, is because a couple of weeks ago, Michael Jackson's number one hits appeared in my car. It's been in the cd player ever since, and I just can't get enough of it. So I thought I'd give a little shoutout to my main man that's been serenading me every time I drive now.
Question of the blog:
Do you like Michael Jackson's music? Which song of his is your favorite?

Glory
Anyone that knows me has the firm understanding that I am absolutely in love with Beyonce. So once she announced she was expecting destiny's child, I was ecstatic! Just stumbled across this song, Jay-Z wrote featuring their little one. I have been listening to it all day, and the sweet baby in the background almost makes me cry every time.

Never Meant To Get This Far From Shore

The page in Theodore Roosevelt's diary, the day where both his mother and wife died within hours of each other.
Short breaths, quick and sharp,
It frustrates you, but I can't slow down
My lungs exhausted, petrified,
I'm not ready to leave this town.
But time sends me forward now
And southbound I am traveling
To what I thought I knew as home,
Though that idea is unraveling.
The body I possess is suffering,
With pain behind the green eyes
Thoughts race through my young mind,
That what was new is now what dies.
A family, broken and at the end,
Or what I pray is just a phase
I look for ways to come back home,
And be in your arms, like better days.

Leading Ladies
As I spend my evening catching up on my most guilty pleasure shows and eating gluten free cinnamon raisin bread (surprisingly delicious), I though I might post something to hold you over for a few days. My best friend and I will be taking a trip to South Lake Tahoe for new years, and I am terribly excited.
Tonight, as I was driving home from the wake of a wonderful friend, I was discussing the topic of dream wives with an old friend from camp. As he laid down his list, which included Kesha and Joanna Newsom (of which I told him to never put the two in the same sentence again.. Joanna is a goddess), I thought I'd think up my own lesbian lovers list.. Which took about 5 seconds.

Question of the blog:
Fess up ladies and gents, who is your woman/man crush?

California Knows How To Party
It's that time of year...
The weather starts to change..
You know you're in Southern California in the Fall when girls are wearing mini skirts with their Ugg Boots.
Despite this and other nauseating moments in California's history, one of our biggest redeeming qualities are the songs that are written about California. So sit back and enjoy some of my favorite California dedicated tunes.
Joni Mitchell - California (Live 1970)
Phantom Planet - California (2001)
Joanna Newsom - In California (2010)
Tupac Shakur - California Love (1995)
Question of the blog:
What state are you from?
Do you have any favorite songs written for your state/city?

Don't Have To Get My Tooth Fixed
Weezy Baby,
If the tooth fairy goes into early retirement, I'm blaming you.

College Bathroom Parties, and Olsen Hands
On a much more random note, I am always impressed at how much the Olsen twins can hold in their dainty little hands.

My Stardust Melody
I have been home for less than 24 hours and I am already getting sick. Give me a little while to get back to my regular state (I don't really know what that is though, because my blogging is so sporadic), and I will have some posts up soon. Until then, I am so hung up over this song. It's a jazzy sort of day.

Some Day I Wanna Make You My Wife
Today, a glimmer of hope was shining through the depressing existence of what we call radio. I'll admit that I am a personal fan of decent hip hop, but for some reason, decent hip hop just does not exist on Sacramento radio stations! It's discouraging to start up your car, and instantly these obscene images start entering your mind through what you listen to on your drive to school.
When I was growing up, all I can remember is listening to the Christian radio station. I felt sort of left out sometimes at school when the girls knew all the Backstreet Boys songs and I didn't, but now that I am older, I feel like my parents did a great thing by not playing that while we were driving around during the day. It saved me from a lot of things that I feel shouldn't be drilled into children's heads like they do now. Maybe that's my conservative thinking, but I feel as though parenting these days is, how you say, not so much.
Anyways, back to my original point, which is that I heard this song that was obviously pretty popular because in the 2 hours of driving I did today, I heard it 4 times. As I first listened to it, I was about ready to change the station, but I heard surprising lyrics that encouraged me. Today I heard music that was finally going back to real romance instead of men looking on women like they were objects to take advantage of. Maybe it's a change of tides in rap music. Maybe they will go on a love and kindness rant and maybe a little less talk about clubbing and such as. If only more people could understand who really listen to them.

It's All Coming Together Now!

Love Games vs. Love Games

This morning, as I logged onto YouTube, I saw that Lady Gaga has a song called Love Games. You know what I instantly thought of? Why, my favorite love games of all, Old Gregg of course! Now if you haven't seen Old Gregg, I suggest you head over to YouTube and look him up. You will be (frightfully) surprised? Maybe that's not the right word for it.. Anyways, Enjoy this music video.
Also, could it be that Lady Gaga is Old Gregg in disguise? See above images for proof that may change the world as we know it. Let me know what you think.
Question of the blog:
Recent polls show that about 99.6% of my friends are closet Lady Gaga fans. What do you think, is she a new Madonna or just a very unique individual that should wear more modest clothing and stop singing about sticks? I vote for the latter.

TMZ is reporting that they have obtained photographic evidence that TUPAC SHAKUR is still alive. Oh please Lord make it true.

So maybe he's been presumed dead for 13 years now.. But I still have hope. Tupac. Love you.
Question of the blog:
Do you have any favorite musicians that have passed away?
Do you believe Tupac is still alive?!

Alexandra Pace... Sounds Good To Me
Lee Pace.
True love? He probably just bumped himself up to like, number 2 on my marriage list. He is so amazing. I just watched Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, and he is just so cute. And funny. And gorgeous.
I wish there was a clip from the movie, but here is Amy Adams (who I also love) and Lee Pace in Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day.
The Fall has to be one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen in my life. It doesn't really help that Lee Pace is one of the main characters. Although it is rated R for the most pathetic things, I would let my little sister watch it. There is no reason why it should be R. Anyways, back to Lee Pace being the most gorgeous man alive:
Lee Pace is also in Pushing Daisies which is awesome. He is just perfect. Marriage material.

Meanings and Memoirs
The other day, I was in my music appreciation class and Justin said, "are you okay? You don't look too good." And I said "Eh it's probably just because I'm not wearing makeup." And he said, "you don't wear makeup..."

Now this statement could mean two things.
1. The makeup that I am using does not do the job. I pray to the Lord on high that this is not the reality of it, because I honestly, when I don't wear makeup I feel like this sometimes:
2. Reason number two for this statement could be that I'm doing a really good job at putting my makeup on. So well in fact, that it looks like I just stepped off my throne next to daddy Zeus and there's this epic trance music in the background going "mmts ahts mmts ahts"
I'm shooting for the latter.
(still playing the trance music in my head.)
On a lighter note, Miley Cyrus, who has been famous for about 3 years now, realeased her memoir last week. Wait.. Isn't she like, five?
Question of the blog:
Miley Cyrus's memoir: would you buy it? When do you think is appropriate age to write a memoir, and would you ever write one about your life?

Questionable Cuts
Some days, I just want spunky short hair that is crazy and messy and has no knots in it. Dream hair of the moment:
Alison Lohman (who starred in White Oleander and Big Fish, two really lovely movies)
PS She has really nice eyebrows.

I cut off all of my hair in 4th grade and gave it to Locks of Love. I was thinking about doing that again, but I would have to grow my hair out a few more inches. Too bad... Because lately I have just wanted flowy pretty pixie forest nature short hair. But I also love my long dancing pulled back or all around my face blowing in the wind long hair right now.
Any thoughts on which I should go for?
I wish you had the ability to circle an answer on Blogger. My dream blog would have this capability:

But really.. Any suggestions?

Very Interesting
My Celebrity Look-alikes.
Jessica Alba? Beyonce Knowles? All of these people are way too good looking. Some of my friends have done this and they look SO similar to celebrities. I don't think I look like any of these people!
