All The Above

I would like a fireplace, with a cuddly kitten, and a comfortable couch with warm blankets.

Keep It

Keep life meaningful

Ocean tomorrow.
Splashing in the waves, clouds overhead, but that's okay, because I like it and that's what makes me feel like I'm at home.

Question of the blog:
I like the feeling of really cold ocean water. When it hits my skin, I get this rush of emotion that bursts out of my body in laughter. I laugh uncontrollably as I shiver in the water.
What is something that makes you genuinely laugh?

Open Up

star wars shirt. running shorts. it's a funny day, with the wind blowing and the sun shining like it does every november. walking down the road, i can't help but smile. it's that still silence of the trees and fields. i'm shaky from the coffee i drank an hour ago. van morrison fills my ear. i'll take your advice and say fuck it all. tomorrow i'll chat with the art institute of seattle, los angeles, new england. what will i do, i'm not quite sure to be honest. lick my lips, pull up my hair into that messy bun you used to love. sit down at my computer and i write about children, and families, and communities, and societies. it's fun. next door my neighbors smoke in the living room, and they enjoy every second of it. and they love it and i love them and they love me. in the library, love is blooming from germany to norway and i can feel them smiling from here. it's the sound of going home. i'm in love with today and with you. thank you. beautiful ideas spill out of my mind onto this keyboard and come out completely wrong, but here it is. the french don't say i love you, but rather i am in love. that's what i am today. with nothing in particular, but with everything. and everyone. i don't have a lot, but that's what i do have. guitar strings without voices. sometimes this is just what i need. nothing is okay but i know it will be, and that's okay for now.

Seasons Will Change

You are my summer.
but what should i do when youre not there, and all i need in the world is that comfort of your presence? you are all around me, no, i am all around you. i think i am starting to see, the only time you come back is when i pull away. a constant game of tug of war. will this go on for all eternity? will we always have to play these games to get that one moment of pleasure? the quest to feel complete has left me empty.
It is the fall.

Propaganda

Giants won the World Series this year, so my friend Brian and 3 other nice kids got tattoos.

Ah, the therapeutic burn.
We went to Propaganda Tattoo on Voltaire Street in San Diego. Such a wonderful place with a great vibe and even better people. How small is this world? Well, Steve, one of the tattoo artists, heard Brian talking about the 5-3-0 (my area code) and said, "Oh, Grass Valley? I lived there for 13 years." CRAZY. He talked all about The Crazy Horse and all of his good times hanging out by my old work. He spoke about Scary Jerry and mutual friends, and the Del Oro theatre.
It was good to have a moment back at home.

College Bathroom Parties, and Olsen Hands

My current living situation is in a suite-style apartment building, on the top floor, on the very corner. The neighbors that share my wall are foreign (I live at an International University), and in the past two days have I heard an array of men speaking Chinese, German, and possibly some middle eastern language I cannot point out. The strangest thing is, is that they are most definitely the loudest when they are in the bathroom, which mirrors mine as well. And there are always more than one in there at a time...

On a much more random note, I am always impressed at how much the Olsen twins can hold in their dainty little hands.

Question of the blog:
What is your living situation like?

I Guess This Is My Dissertation

Wake up, Mista West.
I just slept a total of 4 hours in my new bed, in my new suite, in my new city.

The sun rose with the clouds, white and gray, with the prettiest faded blue jean sky. I continue to connect with my surroundings, and try to remember, I'm not leaving. San Diego has always been my weekend getaway, a mini vacation. This is life now.
Hang up my prayer flags, turn on the lamp, place my toothbrush in the mason jar. Target runs, coffee breaks, but for now I just have sleepy eyes and a full day ahead.

Good morning.

With Arms Outstretched

This day was unlike any others. May of 2010, with 3 of my favorite women. Boating, sunsets, and singing at the top of our lungs. I love you all.

Some days, they last longer than others;
but this day by the lake went too fast.

Question of the blog:
What is your favorite body of water?

Although I've had great memories at Lake Englebright, and years of fun at Seal Beach on the Pacific Ocean, I think I like the Yuba River best of all.

Mustard and Catch Up

Hi... Umm. Do you hate me? I'm sorry I've been away so long. I feel like I have abandoned a child or something. I promise I'll do better!
A lot has happened in the past week, so here is a quick recap.
1. I saw How To Train Your Dragon in 3D last night, and it was so amazing. I would definitely call it one of the best children's movies of our time. Also- It could have been called "Cats With Wings" because those dragons are basically felines. Which I'm obsessed with.
2. I got a job with the census, so I'm for realsies going to England. Which is awesome and scary all rolled into one. Work has been weird lately, and I do not like throwing up sushi. SICK.
3. This past week, my family was gone on spring break. In this time I came to the conclusion that Hamilton, our 25 toed cat, is nutso and I can't handle him. I just about punted him because he is so annoying.
4. The weather has been so fickle lately, and it makes me sad that I can't just drive down to the river whenever I want. I hope it is sunny tomorrow, so I can listen to my playlist of river. Dustin, Jordan and I listened to some of the best songs from last summer. Can't wait for river days.

Paranormal Activity

(image found on google)

Today, I am learning patience. Sometimes it's hard not to cry though.
On a lighter note, I put my purse in my room, went to the living room and ate a bowl of cereal, and when I came back to my room, my door was locked. Either someone in my house lied when I asked if anyone locked it, or something paranormal is going on in my bedroom.

Question of the blog:
Have you had any real paranormal experiences?

Bratz Dolls, Break Downs, and a Latte

Wow. Umm,... Sorry I haven't posted in days. A year, actually. Happy 2010 everyone, I hope you had a more eventful New Years than I did.

Basically what we did all night. Cry faces, Phantom of the Opera, Champagne, the works.
I have sooo much to blog about, so prepare for the following, plus more!
1. My hives.
2. New Years Resolutions.
3. Slacklining.
4. Christmas, church, photos.

And I've got some more up my sleeve, but I'm not going to give all of my secrets away in one swift blow! Don't be ridiculous.
I am now sitting in my favorite coffee shop in LA, Portfolio. After I drove Moorea's car about 20 feet before it broke down, I am a little shaken up and a bit frustrated to still be in Long Beach when I should be working tonight, and seeing my boyfriend in a few hours. I have plans, but I need to learn how to accept changes in my schedule, and accept them with a happy heart. New Years resolution worthy, me thinks.
I hope you are all doing well, I apologize profusely for the lack of posts. When people are actually home, I have things to do! But so many things I don't have time to blog about the things! What a vicious cycle indeed!

Question of the blog:
I know a few of you can't even remember your new years celebration this year. I ain't judgin! What was your most memorable new years?

Tie Up Your Boots!

5 Things I Love About Winter

1. Fireplaces.
What could be better than cozying up with someone (boyfriend) in front of a warm fireplace? Gah. Love it.

2. Victorian Christmas.
For those who don't live in Nevada County, we have a night market with Christmas carolers and vendors and hot chocolate and it just sets the season. Best.

4. Christmas Music
I'm not talking about cheesy Christmas tunes revamped by Taylor Swift, I'm talking about Nat King Cole and company playing in our living room as we decorate the tree.

3. "Home for the holidays"
Helloooo, all my favorite people come home! What could be better than that?!

5. Christmas Dinner
Dressing up pretty, eating our classic meal, and plum pudding. Plum pudding, how I adore thee. The perfect wrap-up to a wonderful day

Question of the blog:
What is one of your favorite things about wintertime?

The Craft Woman Within

I love projects. I love them. I love them. Fixing and creating new exciting things I can see and touch and use. It's the crafty woman inside of me. A couple nights ago I bought one of those amazing bath shelves for our shower.. I am so happy with it. It goes from the tub to the ceiling and makes so much more room in the shower. Satisfaction! Two points for Target and their great bath section.
