I Am Jack's

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
I woke up way too early this morning, and as I got up to take my shower, I realized I left my car windows open all night. In the pouring rain. I then proceeded to spend 8 hours in the most boring class of my life, while 40 year old women gossiped next to me like 6th graders in math class. As I drove home, I almost had an anxiety attack because I knew I was not ready for this exam in Human Sexuality tonight. After an hour of the hardest studying ever, I got a call from Jordan saying that the test wasn't for another two weeks. Why did I think it was today... I will never know. Played mom tonight and took Bella to campus life, which made me late to my class.
The class was awesome tonight. I don't think I have ever voiced my opinion and shared my life so openly before. I picked up Bella, and Jessy prayed for me, and I chatted with Bryce and Pat for a long time. Bella and I met the guardian angel of McDonald's, who gave us two McFlurry's even when I only had 3 dollars, because the debit machine broke down.
I am not ready for tomorrow. I need more than 7 hours of sleep, especially if I'm working overtime tomorrow.
I am Jack's broken heart.

Time

Most stressful week I have had in a long, long time.

You Will Remember

Alexandra is a flower in your hair. She is the tea-stained photo you stare at. She is the bonfire smell that has been woven into your clothes. Alexandra is a spring dress, and a photo to capture it all. She is the frisbee that is thrown in the sky. Alexandra is the long and winding road, and the volume up. Windows down. Heat on. Alexandra is arms crossed in contemplation. Alexandra is the bump on your head, and the sore feet after work. She is the dreams you won't remember. She is the excitement for the days to come.

Cupboards Full

(WeHeartIt)

Here's the thing about rainy days.
1. I think going to school should be illegal. Who likes to go to school in the rain?
2. There should always be a complimentary boyfriend/girlfriend to cuddle with.
3. Cupboards should be prepared with Minestrone and Baguettes.
4. Rainy days have the exact same playlist, every rainy day. Be prepared.
5. All human beings should have the day off from dressing nice. Pajamas in public- accepted.

Question of the blog:
What's on your rainy day playlist?

Puttin' Those In The Backpack

If there's anything you must know about me, it's that one of my favorite pastimes is deleting people off Facebook. I don't know what pleasure I find in it, but the satisfaction of deleting or denying friends us just so great for the ego!
One of my pet peeves about Facebook, though, is when people don't keep their profiles clean. Clean, meaning that they don't delete their activity, so half of their page is just "So and so is now friends with So and so." I am a cleaner.
In the process of cleaning up my profile (I sound like it's a chore, or something I do regularly... Which means I obviously need to get out more..), I decided to take a trip down memory lane as I kept clicking "Older Posts" at the bottom of my page. Let me tell you, I once was a much sassier woman. These are some of my favorite statuses I've written in the past.

Anne Alexandra Seal is going to punch microsoft or the government in the face, whichever i get to first. (Ahh, yes. When my computer was blue screening every day, and my voter registration wouldn't go through.)
Anne Alexandra Seal is "your head looks like it was stuck in a meat grinder" oh hey...thanks mom. (This was right after a hair cut that I loved. And obviously it didn't go over too well with the parents.)
Anne Alexandra Seal is hoping she can find her voodoo doll before it finds her. (I had this weird voodoo doll keychain. I never found it. That's probably the reason for my continual bad luck.)

Anne Alexandra Seal cried thirty tears while watching the season one finale of Avatar. (no, but really.)
Anne Alexandra Seal 's capa was detated (self explanitory.)
Anne Alexandra Seal is moving to Narnia forever. Kbye. (Still going to happen one day. Just you wait. I bet NARNIA doesn't have universities!)
Anne Alexandra Seal kittens and cameras and dancing with hippies, boyfriend and sewing and new sets of sharpies, dancing to deadbeats with angels with wings, these are a few of my favorite things. (That was a good night.)

My life is so random.

Question of the blog:
What do you think should be a rule in Facebook etiquette?

I can't stop playing this.

Weather Or Not

Dear Weatherman,
I will be at Bed Rock tomorrow. You can expect me to listen to Shooter, Wasted, and At The Beach, among other songs, on my way down. If my request has any meaning to you, if you could pump the heat up a bit, and add a good bit of sunshine to the mixture, that would be great. I'm trying to work on my tan, and I can't really do that when it's cold and cloudy. I hope this isn't too much to ask?
Love always,
Alexandra Seal

A Moment Of Childhoodedness

I live in a town that is about 45 minutes from the nearest shopping mall. Kids in my town call it a "trip" to the mall, or even to In N Out. When I was younger, I felt so left out when I couldn't go to the mall every weekend, because that was cool on Disney shows. But now that I am older, I sort of have a new opinion on shopping malls and the populars.
Even now, as I go to the mall to buy glasses or spend a gift certificate, I feel like I'm not one of "them". Oh, you know who I'm talking about.. Mall girls! (Not to be confused with call girls.) But really. Those girls at the mall that give you the look down because you're not wearing the shortest skirt, and you're looking in the sale rack. As a kid, I was mortified when I was seen wearing something deemed "unstylish" by the popular girls.
The other day, though, as I walked around the mall, I had sort of a revelation. I am so glad I am not comfortable here. I am so glad I am not a mall girl. I am a dirt loving, camp song singing, river swimming, unstyled hair, Nevada City girl. I always have been, and I am so blessed to know that today, and not have insecurity or uncertainty that I am not the prettiest, most up kept girl.
Sort of a childish moment in my life, but I just sort of needed that humble moment. I am so glad I was raised here, 45 minutes away from the nearest mall. Salute my shorts!

Ninja Spider

There is a ninja spider in my room, that has been lurking me for the past two days. At least, that's how long I think it's been lurking me. This morning, it showed up on my desk, and as I grabbed my pile of guitar papers to take it out, it disappeared like a masked warrior, and went missing for hours. Then, as I was talking to my boyfriend on the phone, it fell from my ceiling, onto my body. I swear. And then I stood up, and after flailing around for a bit, looked around and it was nowhere.
Conclusion: Either I am dealing with the ghost of spiders past, or this is the sneaking dang spider in the universe.

You're Out Of Your Element

I picked up my glasses yesterday! So here they are, in all their fun.
Yesterday was lovely in the sense that there was so much joy in my heart, that I haven't felt much of lately. It was so apparent through my continuous childish giggles, sporadic moments of diamond shopping, and sunset catching.
In a way, my life is at a very defined moment of change, like I'm at an important crossroad of some sort. The other day, I went to camp, and had a great realization that sort of placed me back into God's hands, and now I am making decisions according to His will, and not mine. Sooo, prepare for some big things happening in Zanda Panda's life pretty soon.
Among other things, I am getting my hair highlighted tomorrow. This is the first time I've dyed my hair in quite a few years...

Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
Oh yes, graduation time, 2008. Practically natural hair color, when it was super long and whispy indian hair. I want this baaaack!

I think this must have been Sophomore year of high school, when I dyed it red a lot, and was a teensy little baby. Divide myself by 6 and you basically have Alexandra as a sophomore in high school.
Half way through my sophomore year, I dyed my hair platinum blond. It turned out to be more like an awesome fire, where my roots were super blond, and my ends were red. Shortly after this, I chopped it off and dyed it brown again.

One of my first times dying my hair, and still a favorite. Red hair, blond bangs. So sassy and fun. Freshman year of high school.
Question of the blog:
When it comes to hair, I've always been sort of a rebel. I've always thought of it as a secondary deal, like if I'm not satisfied with the way it turned out, oh well. Big changes are my faves though... With most things.
Are you good with change, or are you the type of person that prefers predictability?

Mustard and Catch Up

Hi... Umm. Do you hate me? I'm sorry I've been away so long. I feel like I have abandoned a child or something. I promise I'll do better!
A lot has happened in the past week, so here is a quick recap.
1. I saw How To Train Your Dragon in 3D last night, and it was so amazing. I would definitely call it one of the best children's movies of our time. Also- It could have been called "Cats With Wings" because those dragons are basically felines. Which I'm obsessed with.
2. I got a job with the census, so I'm for realsies going to England. Which is awesome and scary all rolled into one. Work has been weird lately, and I do not like throwing up sushi. SICK.
3. This past week, my family was gone on spring break. In this time I came to the conclusion that Hamilton, our 25 toed cat, is nutso and I can't handle him. I just about punted him because he is so annoying.
4. The weather has been so fickle lately, and it makes me sad that I can't just drive down to the river whenever I want. I hope it is sunny tomorrow, so I can listen to my playlist of river. Dustin, Jordan and I listened to some of the best songs from last summer. Can't wait for river days.

Gigantic

Wednesday marks 8 months from this first photo, also known as the 8th month Andy and I have been dating. Today is opening day for the Giants, and I am home watching and listening online, slightly lost, but enjoying the win nonetheless.

For me, baseball is one of those things that has memories building behind it. The first time I ever went to a professional baseball game was with Andy, on August 7th of last year. It's fun to learn and listen all about it, try to comprehend the strategy behind all of what the players do, and the tradition that has been there for years and years.
When I think of baseball, I think of my lovely boyfriend. I think of standing in San Francisco, with the bay behind me and the sun setting. It's the bright orange SF on my hat. And a reminder that in two days it will be another month I've been dating mister Andrew.
We're in the ninth inning and I've only had to call Andy once this entire game.

Question of the blog:
I've never been much of a sports follower, but I enjoy baseball a lot, along with a couple of others. Are you a big fan of any specific sports teams? What sport can you not stand to watch?

Stardust

Sorry for the week long hiatus, It's just so fun when you have a life, that I am completely distracted from all forms of social networking!
Tomorrow marks day one of my week of independence (sort of), so I promise I'll post a lot to make up for last week. Until then, hope you had a great Easter and I'll talk to you soon.
xoxo
